Obituary of Mary G. Fraenckel
Mary G. Fraenckel, 69, of Wall Street, Amsterdam, passed away early Sunday morning, January 10, 2010 at Albany Medical Center. She was born in Schenectady August 5, 1940, daughter of the late Marcus and Margaret Mulvihill Greene.
Mary was a life resident of the area of Roman Catholic faith and was a parishioner of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She worked for many years in Graphic Arts at Noteworthy in Amsterdam. Mary had a passion for art and painting and loved to share it with others. She taught art at St. Mary's Institute and provided private art lessons in her home for children and adults.
Mary enjoyed the art restoration she did for many area churches along with her Murals that were showcased at various branches of First National Bank. She also enjoyed spending summers at Galway Lake and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Her loving family includes her daughter, Elizabeth Rossi and husband Steven of Delmar; her son, Victor Fraenckel, III and wife Eydie of Montclair, VA; her grandchildren: Meghan, Victor "Tigger" IV, Madison and Miles Fraenckel all of Montclair, VA, and Sarah and Theresa Rossi both of Delmar; and her sister, Margaret Pauzé of Glenville. Mary is also survived by her nephews who were like sons to her; Dr. Denis Pauzé and wife Linda of Arlington, VA, Michael Pauzé and wife Cristina of Arlington, VA and Dr. Daniel Pauzé and wife Karyn of Voorheesville. Mary was also a cousin to Ms. Beth Krueger of Guilderland.
A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of D4 North at Albany Medical Center for all of the exceptional care given to Mary during her stay.
Prayer Services will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam, NY 12010. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 to 7:00PM on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
