Obituary of Angelina Damico

Mrs. Angelina "Angie" Damico, formerly of Carlisle Road, Flat Creek, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at the St. Johnsville Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. A long time area resident, Angie was born in New York City, and moved to the area with her family as a young girl. She worked for General Tel Phone Company in Canajoharie and Johnstown until her retirement. She was also employed at the Luxuary in Fort Plain for a time. She was a devout parishioner of the former St. Peter's & Paul's Roman Catholic Church and was a member of its Altar Rosary Society. Angie was also a member of the Grange and the Catholic Daughters. She will be remembered for her "quick whit" and her love of life. Angie was predeceased by her brother Christopher Damico, and her sisters, Margaret Vianese, Anna Stearns, Mary Thomassen, Vitta Davis and long time friend Jake Roosevelt. Survivors include her loving sister, Marion Vianese of Amsterdam, NY; her brother in law, Eugene "Gene" Davis of Flat Creek, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 11 o'clock at Our Lady of Hope Roman Catholic Church, 63 Cliff Street, Canajoharie, NY with the Rev. James E. Clark as celebrant. Interment will take place at a later date in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery. At Angie's request, there is no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Catholic Daughters of the America's, Court Catherine Esther #1264 in care of the funeral home office.
