Obituary of Edna M. Rutana

Edna M. Rutana, 90, of the E.L. Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility, Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday January 12, 2010 at the facility following a long illness. Born in Amsterdam, NY on December 1, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Wszolek Rutana. A lifelong resident, she was employed by the former Chalmer's Manufacturing Company in her earlier years, and later, for many years, by the General Electric Company until she retired in 1981. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She leaves her family, her sister; Bertha Hankins of Houston Texas, six nieces and four nephews. Edna was predeceased by her brothers; Joseph and John Rutana and sisters; Sybil Rutana, Helen Guerriero and Eleanor Easton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday January 23, 2010 at 9:30A.M. at St. Stanislaus Church by Father David Mickiewicz. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday January 23, 2010 from 8:45AM to 9:30A.M. prior to the Funeral Mass at the church. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility, Amsterdam to whom her family is most grateful for her care these past five years.
