Obituary of Marlene Petrosino
Mrs. Marlene Petrosino, 74, of Chapel Pl., Amsterdam, passed away Sunday January 24, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, New York with her devoted family at her side following a brief illness.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 23, 1935 a daughter of the late Antonino and Nancy Martello Perfetti. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1952 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Mrs. Petrosino worked for over 34 years for the City of Amsterdam. Marlene was first employed for the former Mayor Breier as his Secretary. She later worked for various other city departments including the Engineering Department and Department of Public Works retiring in 1999.
Marlene was a communicant of the former St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church now Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Amsterdam. She enjoyed crafting, raising her children and just being with her loving family.
She married Frank Petrosino on October 30, 1955. In addition to her devoted husband of 54 years she is survived by her two loving daughters, Felicia Bucciferro and her husband Michael of Amsterdam and Karen Petrosino Henderson and her husband Kim of Rotterdam, NY. One dear sister, Jeannine Mango of Schenectady, NY. Two beloved grandchildren, Nicholas F. Henderson of Rotterdam and Michael Alfonso Bucciferro of Amsterdam. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Marlene was predeceased by a brother, Anthony Perfetti and a sister Cynthia Thomas.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 8:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15A.M at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John St., Amsterdam with Father Pascal Iannotti as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ft. Johnson, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday January 26, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church.
