Obituary of Gwendolyn D. Thompson

Gwendolyn D. Thompson, age 90, of Gloversville passed away on Thursday February 4, 2010 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility in Gloversville. She was born in Gloversville, NY on July 27, 1919 the daughter of the late Alva and Ruth Gifford Atty. Gwendolyn was educated in the Mayfield and Gloversville school districts. On June 17, 1944 Gwendolyn married Walter J. Thompson and they shared 47 years united in marriage, until his passing on September 2, 1991. She is survived by two sons: David A. Thompson of Gloversville and Dennis M. Thompson of Johnstown; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday February 7, 2010 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday February 8, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Walter officiating. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
