Obituary of Ada E. Hoagboon

Mrs. Ada E. Hoagboon, age 87, formerly of Gloversville, died Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a short illness. She had resided at the Wells Nursing Home in Johnstown for over a year. She was born July 21, 1922 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late John and Bertha Kreitlow Galway. Educated in Gloversville schools, she later worked as a sewer at Taylor Made Products for many years. She was a member of Foothills United Methodist Church, the Gloversville 50-Plus Club and the Nick Stoner Senior Citizens Club. Ada was married on July 27, 1940 to Edward Hoagboon who died December 31, 1990. Survivors include three children: Robert A. Hoagboon Sandy of Johnstown, Patricia J. Achzet Leland of Gloversville and Paula J. Sturgess of Gloversville; eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by all six of her brothers and sister: Paul, William, Alvin, John and Fred Galway and Jane Raykowski. Private services and burial at Ferndale Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
