Obituary of Daniel Furman

Daniel J. "Jake" Furman, 56, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville. He was born February 17, 1954 in Amsterdam, the son of the late Albert and Beula Hassfurter Furman. Jake was employed at General Electric in Schenectady where he worked as a machinist. He loved motorcycles and hunting. Jake was a very generous man with a great sense of humor and will be very sadly missed. Survivors include his beloved fiancée, Barbara Perry of Mayfield; a son, Brandon D. Furman of Amsterdam; a daughter, Misty M. Furman of Schenectady; grandchildren; two brothers: Adelbert Furman of Hagaman and Donald Pabis of Amsterdam; a sister, Dawn Clark of San Diego, CA and several cousins. There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Cremation took place at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady. A burial will be held at Broadalbin Mayfield Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, 12078. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, Broadalbin.
