Obituary of Samantha Zepperi

Samantha "Sammy" Zepperi, 37, of Phillips Street, Amsterdam, peacefully passed away on March 10, 2010 at Ellis Hospital with her loving family at her side. A lifelong city resident, she was born on July 1, 1972 to Felix Torres, Jr., and Mildred "Millie" Figueroa. Samantha was a 1990 Graduate of Amsterdam High School and attended Fulton Montgomery Community College. She was employed by Frontier Communications, and most recently Windmill Diner. On August 30, 2003 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jeffrey A. Zepperi. In addition to her husband and parents, Samantha is survived by her large and loving family. Her grandmother, Gladys Sanchez; step father, Nicholas Zabawsky; three sons, Alejandro Gordon, Timothy D. Zepperi, and Jeffrey A. "Bubba" Zepperi; two daughters, Sophia and Chantel Zepperi; her siblings, Nicholas "Rosco" Zabawsky, Alexander "Bixby" Zabawsky, Fernando Torres, Fabian Torres, Andrea Torres and Aaron Aldi. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Olivia as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Samantha lived her life with the purpose of spreading love and joy to everyone, especially her family. Those who were blessed enough to know her will surely miss her warmth, her light, and her energy. Her astounding kindness made such an impact on this world that it will never be forgotten. Even in the midst of tragedy, Sammy gave the gift of life through organ donation to make a brighter future for several individuals. May her smile and love shine down evermore on the lives that she has touched and may her memory live on. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 3 o'clock at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY, 12010. Calling hours will be held from 1 until 3p.m. prior to the services on Saturday. A spring burial and balloon release will take place at a later date in St. Michael's Cemetery. In place of any flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to a special educational fund for her children in care of the funeral home office.
