Marion Miller

Obituary of Marion Miller

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Marion Miller finished her race Friday, March 12, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. Born on September 7, 1924 she was the daughter of Lottie Mable Weaver and Robert Frederick Kutzhmar. The middle of seven children, Mary was the defender of her sisters and protector of her baby brother. Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Miller of Gloversville, daughters Chrystle Andy Anderson of Summerville, SC, Linda Bonebrake of Hillsboro, NC, son Michael Miller of Gloversville, NY; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Agnes "Aggie" Hupana and Georgia "Georgie" Rosado; and a brother Andrew "Sonny" Wendy Miller, all of Lake Worth, FL. She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Cora DiVesti, Lillian Winter and Freida Martini; and a brother in law, Alfred DiVesti, who lived with her for many years. Mary loved people and animals, especially cats. Her home was open to all, human or animal, which sometimes got her in trouble. Although small in stature, she was filled with a big heart and fierce sense of right and wrong. Mary was feisty. She never hesitated to come to the aid of those she thought needed her assistance, whether they thought they needed it or not. She loved county music, Toby Keith was her favorite artist and she considered herself "An Angry American." She often wrote poems and songs on her own. Above all she loved her family, America and the flight of the eagle. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 1 o'clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. A calling hour will precede the funeral beginning at 12 noon. In place of flowers, please donate as Mary would to your favorite animal shelter in her memory.
