Obituary of Dorothy Baneth

Dorothy Baneth, 90, of Bullshead Rd. Amsterdam, NY, passed away Saturday morning March 20, 2010 at Mt. Loretto Nursing Home following a brief illness. Born in Hoboken, N.J. on February 19, 1920 a daughter of George and Caroline Albach. She attended schools and lived for many years in Hoboken and Hackensack, New Jersey before moving to New York City. She later came to Amsterdam, NY in 1990. Dorothy worked for many years as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Kanan in New York City retiring from the profession in 1990. She was of the Protestant Faith. She is survived by one son, Gerold Baneth and his wife Pamela of Amsterdam. Five grandchildren, Heidi Parks and her husband Frank Lowe of Amsterdam, Sandy Smith of Amsterdam, Lonna Bevins and her husband Scott of Amsterdam, Sabrina Fuller and her husband Jason of Rotterdam and Bryan Edgar of Amsterdam. Eight Great-Grandchildren, Bryan, Steven, Gabriella, Brittany, Jeffrey, Chrsitopher, Scott Jr. and Rachel. One great-great grandchild, Ayden. Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a son Gabriel Baneth who passed away in February of 1954 and a sister Elsie Smith. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday evening March 23, 2010 at 6:00P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Burial of Cremated Remains will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County S.P.C.A. c/o the funeral home.
