Obituary of Donald J. Bubniak
Donald J. Bubniak, 61, of Queen Ann Road, Amsterdam, passed away Saturday March 27, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady with his loving family at his side.
Born March 26, 1949 in Amsterdam, New York he was the son of the late John and Agnes Arndt Bubniak. He was a life long resident of Amsterdam and he was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Don was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was employed as a truck driver for the Department of Public Works City of Amsterdam until his passing.
Don was a member of the AFLCIO Union and the John J. Wyszomirski Post 701 American Legion.
He enjoyed going to Turning Stone, camping and was an outdoorsman. Don cherished his daughter Kari as she cherished him.
Survivors include his daughter Kari E. Jones of Glenville and her mother Barbara Johnson Bubniak; his extended family and companion Joyce Knapik of Amsterdam and her daughter Raylene Cafarelli and her husband Ralph of Wilton; a half brother, Richard Arndt and his wife Carolyn of Rotterdam Junction; aunts, uncles, cousins and his DPW family.
A Legacy Candle Ceremony will be held on Thursday April 1, 2010 at11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery in Amsterdam, with Military Honors. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday March 31, 2010 from 4pm to 7pm at the funeral home with the John J. Wyszomirski Post 701 conducting a service at 6 pm. In place of any flowers the family requests donations be made to the Ellis Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 1015, Schenectady, New York 12301-1015.
