Obituary of Loretta A. Guisti

Mrs. Loretta A. Guisti of 91, formerly of Northampton Road, died peacefully, Easter Sunday, April, 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. A lifelong city of Amsterdam resident, Loretta was born on August 5, 1925 and was the last living child of Louis and Martha Lewandowski Korona. She attended local schools and was of the Roman Catholic faith. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking and baking. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. On August 1, 1948 she was united in marriage to George L. Guisti. That union lasted 50 years until his passing on January 18, 1998. She was also predeceased by her eight siblings, Michael Korona, Edward Korona, James Korona, Beatrice Venezio, Clara Olbrych, Dolores Lasky. Survivors include her three children; George Guisti, Diane (Richard) Folensbee and Jacqueline Guisti; five grandchildren, Shaun, Jennifer (Alexandre), Sarah, Marissa and Matthew; six great grandchildren; one sister in law, Frances Korona; nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 11a.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Rev. O. Robert DeMartinis officiating. A calling hour will be held prior to the services beginning at 10a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fort Johnson.
