Obituary of Stephanie Boguzes

Mrs. Stephanie Boguzes, 88, of Stella Lane, Amsterdam, passed away Easter Sunday Morning April 4, 2010 at River Ridge Living Center LLC with her family at her side. Born in Hagaman, NY on November 27, 1921 a daughter of John and Marcella Popiel Bilinski. She was a lifelong area resident and was a 1940 graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. Mrs. Boguzes was a homemaker for most of her life and worked for a time during World War II at G.E. in Schenectady. She was a communicant of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. She married Alfred Boguzes on May 11, 1946. There would have celebrated there 64th Wedding Anniversary this year. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son Richard Boguzes Karla of Mystic, CT. One daughter Janis Peconie of Amsterdam. One brother, Stephen Bilins of Ft. Johnson, NY. Two grandsons, Sean Oakes of Amsterdam and David Boguzes of Mystic, CT. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a grandson Michael Ryan Boguzes in May of 1985 and her brothers and sisters, Winifred Frieman, Mildred Baker, Bernice Jackson, Joseph Bilinski, Virginia Slezak and Eugene Bilinski. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 6, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Pascal Iannotti presiding. Interment will be St. Stephen's Cemetery, Hagaman, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday April 6, 2010 from 11:00A.M. to 12:00 Noon prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to G.A.V.A.C. or to Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders both c/o the funeral home.
