Obituary of Dorothy J. Frye

Dorothy J. Frye, 88, of Gloversville passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010. She was born October 28, 1921 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late John L. and Jennie Derre Steenburgh. Forever young at heart, everything was "okey dokey" with Dorothy. She loved stuffed animals and adored her cat, Nuisance. She spoiled him whenever she could. Most of all, Dorothy enjoyed being around family. She will be sadly missed. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Elmer Frye, two brothers and two sisters. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 26 at 12 noon at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville with Reverend Cynthia Van Allen officiating. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's name to the Foothills United Methodist Church, 17 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078.
