Obituary of Lillian Reeves
Lillian Reeves, 89, formerly of Carmichael Street, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. Born in Amsterdam on November 5, 1920, she was the last surviving child of Scott J. and Beatrice Sherman Baker. Educated locally, she lived here her entire life. Lillian was employed as a domestic for several local families, including the Chalmer's family until she retired.
Her husband, Herbert J. Reeves, predeceased her on April 29, 1992.
The loving matriarch of five generations, she leaves behind her two daughters; Diana J. Cole and Joanne Bergh both of Amsterdam; grandchildren; Aaron Jones and wife Charity, George Bergh and wife Milicent, William H. Cole Jr. and Theresa Sprinkle, Kristine Pennick and husband Anthony, Matthew H. Cole, Darren R. Bergh and James C. Cole; great grandchildren; Ayanna and Amoni Jones; Mickiel L. and Seth Bergh; William H. III, Diedra, and Briana Cole; Charlotte Sprinkle, Arianne and MacKenzie Pennick, Julia Presley, DeShawn, Ryan, and Kory Bergh; Anthony, Alexis, and Lucas Cole; great-great grandchildren; Caleb, Devon and Naomi Bergh; nieces, nephews; grandnieces and nephews.
Services are Friday at 12 noon at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Mr. Mark Miles will officiate. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. A calling period will commence at 10 am Friday prior to the service. Contributions may be made in her name to Community Hospice of Amsterdam in care of the funeral home office.
