Obituary of Gail E. Baker
Mrs. Gail E. Frenz Baker, 78, of Clizbe Ave, Amsterdam, passed away Wednesday morning April 28, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital at Amsterdam Memorial Campus.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 29, 1932 a daughter of William and Mildred Aldrich Frenz Sr. She was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and was a 1950 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Gail was first employed for the former Bigelow Sanford Carpet Mills Lower Mill in Amsterdam. She also worked as a Nurse's Aide for St. Mary's Hospital and the former Montgomery County Infirmary retiring in 1984. Mrs. Baker was also a homemaker for several years.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church on Golf Course Rd. in Amsterdam. Gail married Leland Baker on May 6, 1962. He passed away on May 30, 2005. She is survived by a daughter, Lorie Pisarczyk and her husband Timothy of Hagaman, NY. One brother, William H. Frenz Jr. and his wife Carol of Charlton, NY and a sister Betty Jane Stanley and her husband Skip of Amsterdam. Two grandchildren, Sarah Pisarczyk of Amsterdam and Timothy Pisarczyk and his wife Heidi of Homer, NY. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Gail was also predeceased by a son Lee Jay Kissinger and her former husband Paul Kissinger who passed away in 2007.
Funeral services will be held on Friday April 30th, 2010 at 2:00P.M. at the United Methodist Church, 347 Golf Course Rd., Amsterdam with Rev.Greg DeSalvatore presiding. Interment of cremated remains will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday April 30, 2010 prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church, 347 Golf Course Rd., Amsterdam, NY 12010 or to a charity of one's choice c/o the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Gail's family would like to thank the St. Mary's Hospital Staff and St. Mary's Hospital at Amsterdam Memorial Campus Rehabilitation Staff for the care given to Gail in her hour of need.
