Obituary of Gladys M. Enser
Gladys M. Enser, 93, of Locust Avenue Amsterdam, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. She was born November 14, 1916 in Amsterdam, the daughter of Arthur and Althea Crawford Guyne.
She was a graduate of the W.H. Lynch High School, class of 1934. She was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Gladys married Joseph Enser at the Forest Avenue United Methodist Church on April 17, 1937, that union lasted a beautiful 62 years until her husbands passing on February 20, 1999.
She was a home maker all of her life, she was an avid reader as well. During her time as a home maker she cherished the time most spent with her family, especially the moments spent with grand children and great grandchildren throughout the years. In addition to her husband, Gladys is predeceased by her sister, Mildred Hartig.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Jo Ann and her husband Buzz Dunn. Her grandchildren, Jeffrey Cuddy and wife Melanie of Tampa, FL., Kelley Ann Male and husband Ron of Broadalbin and Gregg Cuddy of Roanoke, VA. Her great grandchildren, Brandon and Ryan Cuddy, Joseph Colby, Garrett Brower, Skylar Male and Quinlan Cuddy. Her nephews, Richard Hartig and Robert Hartig and his wife Pam. Gladys also leaves behind her constant companion Henrie Cat.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Amsterdam, CHC and Dr. Walter Cummings for their kindness and care they have provided during this difficult time; to Laurie, Gail, Lucy and Mary who were not only care givers, but became like family to us. A heartfelt thank you also to Mary Jane and Doug, you will never know how much you have done meant to all of us. You held a special place in my mother's heart. Our Guardian Angels Georgianna and Allison, we don't know what we would have done without you. You have touched our hearts forever. Thank you for sending Mom home with dignity. Also our gratefulness to the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home for their professionalism, kindness and caring at this difficult time. Also a special note of gratitude to our mother and step- father Jo Ann and Buzz Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our grandmother, a woman who had devoted her life to her family and meant the world to us. Upon Gladys' wishes, she will be cremated. Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory in Schenectady. At her request burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family.
