Obituary of Donna White

Donna White, age 80, of Riceville, NY passed away on May 15, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Albany. Donna was born in Greensburg, PA the daughter of the late Cecil and Bertha Ferguson McWain. She had been a graduate of Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Ohio. She also attended the Rochester School of Commerce, St Lawrence University and Kings College. Donna had taught English in Erie, PA as well as Montville, OH. She later became the assistant librarian for Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner, MA. On June 19, 1949, Donna married Donovan E. White. They have shared 60 years united in marriage. Of those 60 years, Donna served as a minister's wife for 31 of those 60 years. Donna was a great reader, seamstress and friend to all. She was also an accomplished oil painter. She will be missed by all who knew her. Donna is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donovan E. White of Mayfield, a daughter Jennifer Millett Fred of Valatie, NY and a daughter in law Margie White of Gloversville. Additional survivors include: 7 grandchildren: Donna B, Donovan, Meghan, Zeb, Myra, Gary, Sarah and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by a son, Samuel D. White and a Brother James McWain. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday May 17, 2010 at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 18, 2010 at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield.
