Obituary of Earl L. Van Aernam

Earl L. Van Aernam Jr., 85, of Fultonville, NY, has gone to his eternal rest on Friday, April 21st, 2017. Born on October 28th, 1931 in Johnstown, NY, he was the son of the late Gladys Getman and Earl Van Aernam Sr. Earl attended local schools and spent many years employed with Kargs Brothers Leather Co., formally located in Johnstown, NY. Earl was a very dedicated and hardworking man. He loved to spend time fishing and playing cards. Earl is survived by his son Lee (Julie) Van Aernam; his daughter Teresa (Richard) Briggs; his grandchildren, Maria Van Aernam, Ashley Oliver, David Corley, and Ricky Briggs; and his great grandchildren, Aiden Oliver and Karris Oliver. Earl is predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy Miller-Van Aernam; his parents Gladys Smith and Earl Van Aernam Sr.; his sisters, Dorothy Shaw, Florence Warner, and Jesse Dence; his brothers, Clarence Van Aernam, Harry Van Aernam, Robert Van Aernam, Edward Van Aernam, and Frank Van Aernam. Many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. A Graveside Service for Earl will be held on Saturday May 20th, 2017 at 10am at Charleston Christian Church Cemetery, Lykers Road, Sprakers, NY, where he will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife. A reception for family and friends will follow the service at the Town of Mohawk Fire Department, 2553 NY-30A, Fonda, NY.
