Rev. Donald Pitches posted a condolence

After all these years, my memory of Harlow is vivid. The kindest, gentlest, most thoughtful, and caring man, a faithful church member, husband, father, and grandfather. He was devoted to his family, Country, Community, and Church. I shall be forever grateful for his care for me as a young, first-time Pastor at Emmanuel PC. As we prepared for worship, he would smile and encourage me before ensuring I was ready to start the service. Thank you to the entire Gardinier and Gieseler family for your love and support.

With sympathy, to the entire Gardinier Family,
I remember when I was younger my mother enrolled me into piano lessons with Mrs. Gardinier in their home.
After my lesson was over and I'd wait for my mother to pick me up to go home I'd wait in the living room and talk with Mr. Gardinier.
My fondest memories of him was his collection of pigs. Anything from stuffed animal pigs, to cookie jars, a welcome sign outside his home, to the movie Babe. I believe he told me he had a heart operation and a pig valve was used. Another good memory was his beautiful puzzles. Thousands of pieces! Simply amazing!
Every Wednesday, the day of my piano lesson a puzzle on a table in the front foyer was being created. And one day he so generously, put together and beautiful puzzle for my mother. I remember this best because it was an elephant- her favorite animal.
Such kind and thoughtful people they were both. May they rest in peace.

Poppop,
No words can do justice to how much we will all miss you! Even though I know you are still with us in spirit, with grandma watching over us. We will miss your jokes and advice on life and family. I am taking care of your roses as I promised, and they are budding. When I see them or care for them I feel close to you. You will be missed and we will love you always!!

As I once read....
Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful.
It's the transition that's troublesome.
- Isaac Asimov
Unfortunately, I know what you are feeling and it hurts. You have so many memories and he had so much love for the family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. No matter how much we expect death, it still catches us by surprise. May the love you all shared and the memories you all cherish, find a way to give you peace. Although Uncle Harlow is no longer here with us, he took a piece of all of us with him in his heart and there we will stay forever.
Love Carol, Bud and Robert

Judy, Hank, and all your wonderful family - from the time I can remember,Harlow and Beverly were part of my extended family. Harlow was so gentle and kind, always ready to tease the kids and get them giggling, and his spirit was young and beautiful. Like all of our family, I will also see his face in every rose. Our love and sympathy to all of you. Joan and Joe
