Obituary of Lucy Loux

Lucy Loux, 85, of Gloversville, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. She was born January 26, 1925, in Northville, the daughter of the late William and Lela Van Allen Van Buren. She was educated in Gloversville schools. Lucy was employed as a glove worker for Gates Mills until her retirement in 1987. She was married to Donald Loux and spent many happy years together until his passing in 1993. Lucy was involved with and was a member of several seniors groups including Johnstown, Gloversville, Mayfield and Caroga Lake. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the North Main Street United Methodist Church in Gloversville. She will be very sadly missed by her loving family. She is survived by two daughters: Nancy Reccio and her husband, Tom of Gloversville and Donna Lacy of Highland, NY; as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was predeceased by her brother, William Van Buren, Jr. In keeping with Lucy's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 3 at 12 noon at Fern Dale Cemetery in Johnstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
