Obituary of Maryann Riccio

Maryann Riccio, 77, formerly of Cleveland Avenue, Amsterdam passed away peacefully Wednesday evening, June 2, 2010 at River Ridge Living Center. She was born in Amsterdam February 16, 1933 the daughter of late Michael and Frances Costello Neri. Maryann is a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and attended local schools. She is of the Roman Catholic faith, and a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. She was employed at Parson?s Ford as a secretary and later as a switch board operator at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital until her retirement in 1965. Maryann also enjoyed her frequent shopping trips to Wal-Mart with her dear friend Annie Vassi. She married Anthony Riccio on December 16, 1951, their union lasted over fifty five years until his passing on February 3, 2008. Her loving family includes her son Michael A. Riccio and his wife Pamela of Amsterdam, Anthony J. Riccio and his wife Christine of Galway, and daughter Deborah Riccio of Amsterdam; her grandchildren, Brett Michael Glotzbecker, Christopher Melissa Riccio, Antonio Riccio, Nico Riccio, Richard A. Meyers, Jr., Nicole and Anthony Merritt as well as one great grandchild Gianni Riccio. Her sister Dolores Bonkowski of Clifton, NJ, special nieces Barbara and Holly and cousins also survives. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:15 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Saturday June 5, 2010. Fr. Pascal Iannotti, Celebrant. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to Mass on Saturday beginning at 8:30 AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue Amsterdam, NY 12010.
