Obituary of Eleanor M. Eckberg

Eleanor M. Eckberg, 76, of Florida Avenue, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord, Thursday afternoon at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility. Born in Amsterdam on May6, 1934, the daughter of the late Stanley and Nancy Vassi Osowicki, she was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. A homemaker, Eleanor's door was always open to family and friends. She was forever smiling and happy , and strong in her Christian faith . She loved playing cards and dining with those she loved. A seamstress, she entered the workforce after her children were raised, and retired from Ward Products in 2003. She leaves her children; Bonnie Abbess Rajia of Bomoseen, Vt., Kimberly Wager and Eric Lori Eckberg of Broadalbin; grandsons Devon Eckberg and Youssef Rajia; brothers Stanley Osowicki of Easley, S.C., and Bennie Osowicki of Florence Colo.; sisters; Mary Burke of Amsterdam and Kathleen Traver of Hagaman; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A service will take place on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Pastor Scott Baldwin will officiate. Interment is in St. Michael's Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a contributions may be made to a special fund in care of the funeral home office.
