Obituary of Ruth M. Feight

Ruth M. Feight, 78, of Johnstown, passed away Wednesday, June 09, 2010. She was born September 29, 1931 in Utica the daughter of the late Clinton and Cleo Bee Davis Lamphere. Ruth worked as a substitute supervisor for the Lexington Center until her retirement in 1979. She was married to Edward A. Feight whom she spent many happy years with until his passing in 1990. She was a member of the Salvation Army and the Women's Group there. Ruth also served as President of the Gloversville Eagle's Auxiliary and was awarded the prestigious Mother of the Year Award 1990-1991. She loved to play bingo, cards and do puzzles. Ruth will be sadly missed. Survivors include three daughters: Betty Carter John, Louise King John, Sr. and Nancy Reynolds Daniel, all of Gloversville; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters: Cleo Rupley of Lancaster, TX and Sandra Dennis of Utica; a stepdaughter, Celeste Pilkington of Arkansas and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her beloved husband, Edward, she was predeceased by her first husband, Howard Pike, Sr.; two sons: Howard Pike, Jr. and Raymond Pike; two brothers: Burton Lamphere and Louis Lamphere , a sister, Wynetta Scott and her precious dog, Oscar. Family and friends are invited and may call Friday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon with the Reverend Dr. R. W. Williams presiding. Interment will be at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ruth's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Pine West Plaza, Bldg 4, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
