Obituary of Arlene J. Fick

Mrs. Arlene J. Fick, of Sterling, NY and formerly of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010 following a long illness. Born in Amsterdam on January 14, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Bennett C. Bradt, Sr. and Anna Mae Small. On September 2, 1940 she was united in marriage to Burdett Fick. That union lasted 59 years until his passing on March 3, 1999. Arlene was also predeceased by her daughter and son in law, Sharon and Thomas Smitka; and a brother Bennett C. Bradt, Jr. Survivors include her daughter, Donna Ruark and her husband Charles of Sterling, NY; a brother, Robert G. Bradt and his wife Maryrose of Amsterdam, NY; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Service of Remembrance for Burdette and Arlene Fick will be held graveside on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 10 o?clock at the Hagaman Mills Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Finger Lakes, 1130 Corporate Drive, Auburn, NY 13201. Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
