Obituary of Thomas John Tarka
Mr. Thomas John Tarka, 41, of Amsterdam, was welcomed into the arms of his loving Heavenly Father on Sunday evening, April 23, 2017.
Born August 18, 1975 in Niskayuna, NY, the son of John Tarka and Janet M. Grimes Baron. He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Amsterdam High School Class of 1993. He served for a short time in the U.S. Navy in 1994. He attended Welding School and while working in Seabrook, NH, lived in York Beach, Maine for a few years.
He was employed in the construction industry by the Labor Union Local # 152 of Schenectady. He worked on the famed "Big Dig" in Boston and at the Seabrook New Hampshire Nuclear Power Plant among others. He was an avid sports fan of the NY Rangers, Mets and Giants. He loved all of his animals especially his pet dogs, Tessa and Loduca. He would do anything for anyone at anytime he was needed. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his longtime partner and companion of over 16 years, Angela DeCarlo of Amsterdam. His loving Parents, John and Lorraine Tarka of Amsterdam, NY and Janet and Edward Baron of Hagaman, NY. Brothers and sisters, Joseph Peter DeNoyell of Lake Luzern, NY. Joshua (Vanessa) Baron of Middletown, NY, Robby Baron of Hagaman, NY, Shauna Baron of Montana and Stephanie Siciliano of East Bern, NY. Grandparents, Lorraine (John) Collins. Aunts and uncles, Joe (Jary) Grimes, Mark Grimes, Jack (Connie) Grimes, Laura Monlea, Jane (Lou Carol) Grimes, Mary Lynn Grimes, Sharon Toohey, Tom Grimes, Michael Grimes and Michael and Mary Izzano. Several cousins and many friends also survive.
The family invites relatives and friends to calling hours and to celebrate Thomas' life on Thursday, April 27, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Betz, Rossi and Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Regional Animal Shelter, 117 W.
