Obituary of Harris S. Shafer

Mr. Harris S. Shafer, III, 24, of Vrooman Avenue, Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Albany Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Schenectady, NY in June 8, 1986 he was the son of Harris S. Shafer, Jr. and Michelle Bechard. Harris attended Amsterdam city schools and was a lifelong area resident. He enjoyed playing video games a being around people. Although his life spanned only 24 years, he was able to do and see the things he wanted to. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. His family includes, his parents; his fiancé, Jessica Cislo; sisters, LeaAnn Oquendo and Amy Shafer; brothers, Daniel, Jessie and Devon Shafer; Aunts, Chantelle Smith, Georgianna Cobett, Melody Shafer; Uncles, Ted Beechard, III, Scott Shafer, Gary Juliano and Albert Smith; Grandparents, Harris S. Shafer, Sr., Ted Bechard, Jr., and Dale and John Dennebaum; three nieces, one nephew and eleven cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 1 o?clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call beginning at 12 noon prior to the service. .
