Obituary of Thomas L. Marcellino
Mr. Thomas L. Marcellino, 81, of Northville Rd. in Edinburgh, NY, formerly a resident of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully Sunday July 25, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on August 11, 1928 a son of the late Thomas and Helen Riso Marcellino. He was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a 1946 Graduate of Amsterdam High School. Mr. Marcellino was a U.S. Army Veteran serving from 1950 to 1952.
Tom worked for over 35 years as a Mason Superintendent for Wade Lupe Construction Co. in Schenectady, NY. He also was the Co-Owner and operator of the former Beachcomber in Northville, NY. Mr. Marcellino was a Life Member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was of the Roman Catholic Faith and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as listening to Frank Sinatra, Golfing and spending the winter in Florida.
He married the former Joyce Frasier Marcellino on April 24, 1967. In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his children, Thomas Marcellino and his wife Karen of Highland, NY and Maria Snyder and her husband Rick of Cicero, NY. One brother, Frank Marcellino of Amsterdam. One sister Isabella Damiano and her husband Tony of Amsterdam. Four beloved grandchildren, Austin and Gina Marcellino and Alexa and Kayla Snyder. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Helen Marcellino and a brother, Tony Marcellino.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday July 29, 2010 at 10:00A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Father Pascal Iannotti presiding. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday July 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edinburgh Emergency Squad or to the Edinburgh Fire Department both c/o the funeral home.
