I first knew Art when I was a little kid and he just came home from the war. His uniform was very impressive and he treated me special, or so it seemed to me. In my mind we had become buddies. When I was eight or nine he took me small game hunting a few times - always with a long lecture about rifle safety. My folks were friends with him and Grace so I got to see him once in awhile. As I got older I would see him at his work.
To me, Art was a special man that I was fortunate enough to see throughout my life. I shall never forget him.
