Obituary of Doris W. Lindholm
Mrs. Doris W. Lindholm, 102, of Lipe Place, Canajoharie, NY died peacefully Thursday, August 19, 2010 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY following a brief illness. Born on June 25, 1908 in Cobleskill, NY she was the daughter of the late Earle and Abbie Wade Winans.
Mrs. Lindholm was raised in Worcester, NY and moved to Canajoharie with her family as a teenager. She was employed as a key punch operator for Beech- Nut Nutrition retiring in 1970. Mrs. Lindholm was the oldest member of St. John?s & St. Mark?s Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Society. She was also a 76 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star: Art- Well Otsquego Chapter #208.
In 1933 she was united in marriage to C. Kenneth Lindholm, a union that lasted 50 years. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Charlotte Billings and Donald, Kenneth and Robert Winans.
Survivors include her two sons, Peter Lindholm and his wife Patricia of Scammon, KS and Robert Lindholm of Canajoharie, NY; two granddaughters, Wendy Phillips and Holly Fouts, both of Bartlesville, OK; her sister, Gladys Leopitzi of Palm Bay, FL; her brothers, William Winans of Norwich, NY and Lewis Winans of St. Augustine, FL; two great granddaughters; three step granddaughters; and several step great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010 at 11 o?clock at St. John?s & St. Mark?s Lutheran Church, Church Street, Canajoharie, NY with Pastor Zach LaBagh officiating. Interment will follow in Canajoharie Falls Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 2 until 5p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY where her arrangements have been entrusted. The Order of the Eastern Star will gather for services at 4p.m. Sunday for services for their fallen sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John?s & St. Mark?s Lutheran Church or Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Corps., in care of the funeral home office.
