Obituary of Sterling R. Williams
Mr. Sterling R. "Pecky" Williams, 71, of Gloversville, passed away Saturday at Nathan Littauer Hospital. He was born April 3, 1939 in Johnstown, son of the late Emile, Sr. and Evelyn Spencer Williams. He attended school in Broadalbin. Earlier in life he had worked for the New York State Fish Hatchery and also for Coleco Industries. Most of his life was spent in the maintenance department of Nathan Littauer Hospital where he retired in 2002. "Pecky" enjoyed his family and many friendships throughout his life. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his sister, Pauline Brown of Gloversville, and two brothers, Gordon Williams and his wife Nellie of Fonda and William Williams and his companion Reviena Watson of Northville. Nieces and nephews also survive. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Emile Williams, Jr. and Martin Williams. "Pecky" will also be sadly missed by his special dog friend "Nala".
Funeral services will be held 7p.m. Wednesday at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-7 pm prior to the service. Cremation will take place at Park View Crematorium in Schenectady. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 627, Gloversville, NY 12078.
