Obituary of Gertrude T. Kowalski

Gertrude T. Kowalski, 94, formerly of Clark Avenue in Amsterdam passed away peacefully Thursday morning at River Ridge Living Center in Amsterdam, NY. She was born August 6, 1916 in Toledo, Ohio the daughter of the late Julius and Gertrude Wanders Jablonski. Gertrude was a life long resident of Amsterdam and attended local schools. Gertrude was employed as a Seamstress, working the inspection line in dress shops in Amsterdam. She was united in marriage to the late William J. Kowalski in 1943. Gertrude is survived by her sons William J. Kowalski and Thomas F. and Kathleen Kowalski of Amsterdam; a brother, Edmund Jablonski of Gloversville, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Gertrude is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband William, who predeceased her December 17, 1996, she is predeceased by her son Randolf Kowalski. Funeral services will take place Monday, August 30, at 11am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue in Amsterdam, with Fr. Robert DeMartinis officiating. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday one hour prior to the service from 10 until 11. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ft. Johnson.
