Obituary of William A. Evenson
Mr. William A. Evenson, 67, of Lafayette Street, Palatine Bridge, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 following a brief illness. Born in Cleveland, Ohio he was the only son of the late Elmer and Beatrice Evenson.
Bill had a lifelong love for music that was fostered during his high school band days which began at South Plainfield High School in South Plainfield, New Jersey and later Canajoharie High School in Canajoharie, New York. While a student at Canajoharie, Bill had the opportunity to travel with the band and march in the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA. He enjoyed playing Bass and the Tuba in many local organizations including the Dolgeville Community Band and the Esperance Town Band.
Following graduation, Bill served proudly with the Unites States Air Force during Vietnam. He was employed locally with several companies including Fiber Glass Industries and Losorto Foods until his retirement. He also was a member of the Coon Hollow Engine Club and enjoyed tinkering with old gas power engines. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by three daughters; two grandchildren; and many friends including Hector and Cindy Rivera.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at 12p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams presiding. A calling hour will precede the service beginning at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will take place in St. Peter's & Paul's Cemetery with military honors.
