Obituary of Rosemary S. Vines
Rosemary S. Vines, 89, of St. Jude?s Lane passed away peacefully Sunday evening at her home with her family at her side.
Born in Manhattan, NY on March 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emmanuela Parente. She was educated there and following her marriage to Vincent Vines on September 27, 1942, she moved to this area. Rosemary worked for twenty five years at Andy?s Lunch in Schenectady where she met many wonderful friends and customers. A devout Roman Catholic, she spent much of her day in prayer. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved the holidays especially because they gathered all around her. Together, they travelled and enjoyed trips to New Jersey and Vermont. Rosemary enjoyed ceramics and bingo.
Her husband predeceased her on Feb. 19, 1977. She also lost her brothers Edward and Salvatore Parente.
Her loving family includes her sons, Vincent & Susan Vines of Glenville and Richard and Gail Vines of Amsterdam; her grandchildren, Vincent, Christine and Brittany Vines; a sister, Lucille Burke of Westwood, Long Island; and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass Of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:00 am at St. Mary?s Church, 156 East Main St. Amsterdam. Fr. John Medwid, pastor as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery, Rotterdam. There are no calling hours and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice Of Schenectady in care of the funeral home office. Rosemary?s family is most grateful to Hospice and Fr. Medwid for their concern and prayers during her last weeks. Her family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam 12010.
