Obituary of Linda Perfetti

Linda Harris Perfetti, 85, formerly of the Hi-Rise Apartments, Wall Street, passed away Tuesday at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility after a long illness. Born in Ipswich, London, England, April 11, 1925, the daughter of the late William Leslie and Ethel Haldin Harris. Educated in England, Linda served with the British Land Army in World War II. It was during that time that she met Matthew Perfetti, an American Soldier serving in England. After their marriage they moved to the US and settled in his hometown of Amsterdam. Linda worked in various local factories including Consolidated Novelty before she retired in 1985. An avid Mets fan, she maintained her proper English demeanor, but was proud to be a naturalized American citizen. She was of the Anglican faith. Her husband, Matthew predeceased her on Feb. 12, 2002. She leaves her children; Paul and his wife Marjorie Perfetti of Amsterdam; and Christina Colangelo of Albany; her grandchildren, whom she loved spending time with, Matthew and Roxanne Colangelo and Carrie Perfetti; her sister; Marjorie Vallow of Suffolk, England; and nieces and nephews. A service will be at the convenience of the family at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Interment will follow in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers , contributions may be made in her name to the Montgomery County SPCA in care of the funeral home office, in honor of Linda's love for animals.
