Obituary of Audrey Faun Zabo

Mrs. Audrey Faun Zabo, 84, of Widow Susan Road, Amsterdam, NY died peacefully on September 9, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family following a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Paterson, New Jersey on February 2, 1926 she was the only daughter of John and Harriet E. Blunck Quick. Audrey moved to Amsterdam at the age of 2 and attended City schools. She was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She worked for General Electric for a time before opening the Manor Glass Company with her husband in 1969. A unique individual, Audrey always enjoyed good company and good conversation. Above all, she loved and adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. On February 14, 1944 she was united in marriage to Carl W. Zabo. That union lasted forty three years until his passing on October 21, 1987. Survivors include her three children, Christin Gawrelski, Peter Zabo and his wife Valerie and Robert Zabo and his wife Lisa, all of Amsterdam, NY; four brothers, John E. ?Bud? Quick of Johnstown, NY, Stuart W. Quick and his wife Dorothy of Amsterdam, NY, David M. Quick and his wife Carol of Johnstown, NY and Marvin G. Quick of Johnstown, NY; five grandchildren, Laura Scudara, Daniel Gawrelski, Rachel Zabo, Alexandra Zabo and Natasha Zabo; one great grandson, Hayden Zabo; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 11 o?clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY with the Rev. Kenneth Bonnett presiding. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus? Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 3 until 6p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Amsterdam or the American Cancer Society both in care of the funeral home office.
