Obituary of Kneiland J. Owens
Kneiland J. Owens Sr., 83, of Route 5 S, in Fultonville passed away peacefully Monday night at his home with his loving family by his side. Born June 6, 1927 in Amsterdam, NY, he is the son of the late Murray H. and Ida Craver Owens.
Kneiland attended Fultonville Union Free School; he also served in the United States NAVY. He was employed as a Laborer for White Mop Wringer Company for a number of years and was a member of the Fultonville Bowling League. He was also a life time member of the Fultonville Volunteer Fire Department. Kneiland was an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved to spend time at his camp on the Sacandaga Lake.
Kneiland was married to the late Anna MacPhail, February 2, 1968.
He is survived by his children Kneiland J. Jack Owens Jr. and his wife Karen of Charleston, NY, Michael J. Owens and his wife Deborah of Casa Grande, AZ, and a daughter Kathleen Harrod and her husband David of Glendale AZ; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Howard Owens of Ocala, FL and Edward Berry of Ft. Hunter, NY.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville NY 12072. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Fultonville Volunteer Fire Department or to Mountain Valley Hospice.
