Obituary of Josephine Dubicke Cahill

Mrs. Josephine Dubicke-Cahill, 88, of Capagna Drive in Albany, NY, formerly a resident of Amsterdam and Tribes Hill, NY, passed away Tuesday September 14, 2010 at the Julie Blair Nursing Home in Albany. Born in Amsterdam, NY on February 17, 1922 a daughter of Albin and Anna Laskiewicz Ilnicki. She was raised in Amsterdam and attended local schools there. Josephine first was employed for Collette Manufacturing in Amsterdam. She later worked for the former Hanover Dress Co. in Amsterdam and most of her career as a closer at the Fownes Bros. Glove Company also in Amsterdam. Josephine was of the Roman Catholic Faith. She first married Benny Dubicke on February 1, 1942, he passed away in 1981. She later married Peter Cahill on January 31, 1987 he passed away in June of this year. Survivor?s include her beloved son, Dennis Dubicke of Amsterdam. Step Sons, Peter and Daniel Cahill. Three sisters, Mary Rakowski , Cecilia Samsel and Violet Stoddard all of Amsterdam. Her and her husband Peter?s beloved granddaughter, Maeve Cahill. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Josephine was predeceased by two brothers Charles and Stanley Ilnicki. Funeral Services will be held on Monday September 20, 2010 at 8:15A.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:15 A.M. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Roman Catholic Church, St. John St., Amsterdam. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Tribes Hill, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday September 19, 2010 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.
