Obituary of Vincent L. Reichel
Mr. Vincent L. Reichel, 84, of Thayer Road, Amsterdam, NY died peacefully Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Leaksville, North Carolina on July 12, 1926 he was the son of the late John and Mae Reichel.
In 1945, he enlisted in the United States Army and served proudly until he was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Reichel served as a manager for Sherwin Williams. He worked in several stores in the Capital District and at one time was a district manager.
A boating enthusiast, Mr. Reichel loved the Sacandaga Lake and the great outdoors. He was a member of the Sacandaga Boat Club and the boy scouts. He also served as a Head Ranger on Scout Island for many years. Above all, he loved his family and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by all of his siblings; Norman Reichel, Leonard Reichel, Florence Lennebecker and Helen Sardonia.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, the former Audrey Paro; two daughters?, Janet Bull and her husband Kenneth of Schenectady, NY and Deborah Bush of Ballston Spa, NY; three grandsons, Christopher Bull, Kevin Bull and Joshua Bush; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 17, 2010 at 10 o?clock at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with the Fr. Derik Roy officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30p.m. at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call this evening Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice or the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department both in care of the funeral home office.
