Obituary of Jean D. Hojohn

Ms. Jean D. Hojohn, 83, formerly of Johnstown, NY passed away peacefully Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Mt. Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam. The daughter of Richard E. and Margie M. Becker Stewart, she was born in Mayfield, NY on April 6, 1927. Jean was raised in Mayfield, NY and resided in Johnstown most of her life. She attended Mayfield Schools and graduated in 1945. Jean was employed as an Assistant Clerk for the Gloversville Board of Education and was later a Nurses Aid at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She retired during the 1980's. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Adirondack Baptist Church. Jean is survived by her loving children, Michael R. Hojohn of Johnstown, Rodney S. Hojohn of Mayfield, Mark S. Hojohn Jill of Johnstown and Susanne Shaver Kenneth of Gloversville; Seven grandchildren, Todd, Scott, David, Kimberly, Andrea, James and Rebecca; 11 Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive. She was predeceased by a sister Lois Margaret West. A memorial service for Jean will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam, NY 12010. Family and friends are invited to call one hour prior to the service beginning at 6:00PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions in Jean's memory may be made to the Lions Club International in care of the funeral home office.
