Diane, and the rest of the family,
Whether he was grilling me about my two accidents with the Montenaro's snow-cone truck, or seating me at a church dinner, or just shooting the breeze, he was one of the most delightful and charming people I have ever met.
And,of course, when I returned to town as a very young lawyer, he inquired whether I had looked into life insurance. I told him that I had indeed taken out a policy while I was working in Albany.
"How much?" he asked.
I told him.
Long pause.
"Don't plan on staying dead long, do you?'
What a guy. He still makes me smile.

Randy and I have fond memories of Ron taking care of business in the 'family' way. I looked at his suggestions as those that my Dad would have made. He was such a special, caring man who touched our lives luckily. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

It was always a pleasure to be visiting my parents and have Ron and Dawn visit from next door. Ron would have everyone laughing with his stories and inspired with his outlook on life. It is very sad to hear that he has passed. We send our best wishes to Dawn and his whole family and hope that all the good memories will help them through. He will definitely be missed.

Dawn and Family:
I will always remember the times we shared with Ron at various State Farm trips, family outings, and State Farm events from when I was younger. Ron was a wonderful man and I always looked "up" to him. He and Dawn were wonderful friends of my late grandfather Bob Persse. May they now be able to shake hands once again.
In later years, my husband got to know Ron and Dawn and he much admired Ron. He always had time to stop and talk. He will be missed very much. You are all in our thoughts and our prayers.
With Love and Sympathy-

To All of Ron's Family: Jay and I were so sorry to hear of Ron's passing. It hasn't been the same for the past couple of month's when we haven't been able to walk out the front door of our store and see him sitting on the porch enjoying the day. He was a very nice man, and we will miss seeing him.

I can't remember a time when the Gotham family was not a part of my life, which is a very good thing. Ron played many roles in my life but none more important than being my best friend. He, along with Dawn, have been there at the very happiest times, diving around Amsterdam on a Friday night in Augsut 1982, and the very saddest times as well, sitting on the front porch praying for a cure which was granted. I will miss my friend every time I go golfing, walking or any time I need advice but will know I will always have him by my side. RIP my friend, you've earned the rest. Love you Ron.

Living next door to Ron and Dawn in Bradenton was one of the best things that ever happened to us --- pure joy! Ron ALWAYS had a smile on his face and a funny joke or story.
Dawn and I would shake our heads in disbelief when time after time he and Dennis would "clean our clocks" at Skip Bo, all the while with a huge smile on his face showing that big wonderful dimple, but quietly playing his hand.
We'll always remember Ron when we hear the
expression, "It's just the right thing to do". He took such pleasure in helping others.
We met most of his great family as they each came to Florida to visit. What a close and special family they are. Dennis and I loved it when Ron referred to us as his extended family.
We feel honored to have known Ron. People like him don't come around too often --- he was one of THE BEST!
Ron will truly be missed by all.
He and all the family will be in our thoughts and prayers always.

Dear Dawn, Linda, Diane, Colleen, Bobby and the entire Gotham family,
Our heartfelt condolences to you at this very difficult time. As you know, Ron was a second Dad to me, from driving us to school each day when we were young, to raising a glass during the holidays as we got older - I spent many waking hours across the street - some of the very best years of my life. I will always remember him dancing up a storm with my Mom at our wedding - there are more pictures of him than anyone else- most people thought he was the father of the bride! So many wonderful memories fill my heart. I will always be grateful to him and to you, Dawn - you gave me not only your friendship - but my very best friend.
What a legacy he leaves behind - I know you love and will miss him as will many others.
Cheers Ron - say hello to my Mom and have another dance.
Love Robin and Al

I've known Ron since the day he was born. To think I woke my mother up that morning because Reta had a stomach ache. Many good times we've had together. Many laughs and a few cries. He was always a joy and lots of fun. His cup always half full. The trips we had from Florida to North, the jokes he told, and then always repeated on the return trip because he said I wouldn't remember. Our get-togethers over Dawn's homemade bread and strawberries & biscuits will be missed. With deepest sympathy.

Ron was and always will be a great man. The family reunions were awesome and the fun memories will live on forever. I've never seen someone scramble so many eggs in one fry pan. When Aunt Sadie passed away, it will always be remembered how Ron broke the sadness of the gathering when he pulled out a bowl of cheese curd to share. Leave it to Ron to always make you smile. I feel truly blessed to have known him. Please know that our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the Gotham family.
