Obituary of Robert P. Procita

Robert P. Procita, age 78, of Mayfield passed away on Sunday October 3, 2010 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. He was born in Gloversville, NY on March 12, 1932 the son of the late Joseph and Marion Gifford Procita. Robert was a graduate of Gloversville High School, class of 1950. Over the years, Robert worked for the Ringle Insurance Agency. He owned and operated Procita Chevy, Oldsmobile and Cadillac in Gloversville and Johnstown for 15 years. Robert was a longtime member of the Pinebrook Golf Club where he was the Fulton County Amateur Champion in 1964. Robert was also a member of the Gloversville Lions Club, Gloversville Rotary, Mayfield Serviceman's Club, National Auto Dealers Association and the Independent Insurance Agents Association. Robert is survived by his wife, Sylvia Quinton Procita of Mayfield, NY, a son: Robert J. Procita Evelyn of Hickory, NC, two daughters: Paula Brown Steven of West Haven, CT and Dorothy Wands Kevin of Mayfield, NY, a brother: Jack Procita Kathleen, two sisters: Joan Harlan Lee and Gene Echols. Additional survivors include: 7 grandchildren: Timothy Procita Jennifer, Joseph Procita Dr. April, Holly Procita, Alex Wands, Courtney Wands, Felicia Brown and Amanda Kitlas Jeremy and four great grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday October 6, 2010 at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home; 51 Fremont Street; Gloversville. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday October 7, 2010 with the Pastor Richard Hoff officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made in memory of Robert to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078.
