Obituary of Ruth I. Rinehimer
Ruth I. Rinehimer, 90, of the Hi-Rise Apartments, Wall Street, passed away Sunday evening at St. Mary?s Hospital.
Born in Wapwallopen, PA. on November 27, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Martha Deets Spaide. She moved to this area in 1947 and was employed for a number of years as the manager of the gift shop at the Thruway restaurant . Later, she worked for the former Soulla?s Card Craft in Amsterdam. She was a member of the First Baptist Church.
On April 12, 1941, she was united in marriage to Percy E. Rinehimer who predeceased her on June 7, 1976. Ruth was also predeceased by her siblings Carl, Clarence, Grant, William, Beatrice and Norma, and her grandson Jason Rinehimer.
She leaves her children; daughter Lora L. Pankonin of Fort Johnson, sons Grant W. Rinehimer of Amsterdam and Glenn A. Rinehimer and his wife Elaine of Las Vegas, NV.; grandchildren; Neil Rinehimer, Eric Pankonin, April Pankonin and Randi Ross; great grandchildren; Alexandra Rinehimer, Ashley Spagnola, Madeline, Sadie and Grant Rinehimer, Colm Ross, Stella Rinehimer, Ciara Ross and Hogan Rinehimer; her sister; Rose Koshinski of Nuangola, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are this evening Tuesday from 4-7 pm at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. A prayer service will follow at 7pm with the Rev. Ken Bonnet officiating. On Thursday a service will take place at 11:00 am at the McCune Funeral Home in Mountaintop Pa. with interment following at the Slocum Cemetery. A calling hour will begin at 10am Thursday prior to the service in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ruth?s name to the First Baptist Church of Amsterdam in care of the funeral home office.
