Obituary of Nancy A. Forgette

Nancy A. Forgette, age 70, of Perth passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 6, 2010 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy had courageously battled a long illness. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on September 8, 1940, the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Daye Richards. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Thomas Richards of Perth and Jerrett Richards of Hagaman. On May 20, 1961 Nancy was united in marriage to Howard Forgette. They have shared 49 years together and raised a wonderful family. In addition to her husband Howard, Nancy is survived by four children who love her dearly, Jane Forgette and her fiance Ron Konik of Perth, Gregory Forgette and his wife Jamie of Johnstown, Brian Forgette and his wife Jessica of Gloversville and Jeffrey Forgette of Perth. Additional survivors include 5 grandchildren who she adored: Pam Russell, Jillian Forgette, Saige Forgette, Gavin Forgette, Isabella Forgette and a great grandchild, Tyler Fredrick. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Perth, NY, having lived at her family home since birth. Nancy Graduated from the Perth School System. Nancy worked for a brief time outside of the home, but her primary focus in life was caring for her family, which she did with enduring, unconditional love and devotion until her final days. Nancy would always do whatever she could to help others, even in failing health she would say to others "I wish there was something I could do to help you". Nancy took great joy in the simpler things in life, she enjoyed gardening, sewing and baking. Nancy would often share memories of times passed with family and friends. It was always entertaining to hear the memories that she shared with so many. Nancy would frequently remind her children to slow down with life and take some time to relax, fearing that they were not making enough time for themselves. Nancy had an enduring faith and trust in her Lord and Savior, faith that she so strongly exhibited until her final moments here on earth. Quite simply, Nancy was content to have never ending love of her dear family and friends. Nancy loved life and her family; she did what she could do, with whatever she had. She was a loving daughter, devoted wife, mother and friend to many. Nancy will be sadly missed by all who were blessed enough to know her. Friends and relatives are invited and may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday October 11, 2010 at the Jeffords & Stewart Funeral Home, 85 West Main Street, Broadalbin. A funeral service will be conducted immediately following the conclusion of calling hours at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in Perth Cemetery.
