Obituary of Richard C. Gaus
Richard C. Gaus, 86, of Willow Court, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon at the River Ridge Living Center LLC with his wife at his side.
Born in Lancaster, Pa. on January 16, 1924, he was the son of the late Jerome and Anna Fasig Gaus. Educated in Pennsylvania, he lived in Florida until moving to this area three years ago. Richard was first employed with his father in the carpet business, and later in the same industry in Florida. He lastly worked for the Hearst Newspaper Syndication in Florida. He was a parishioner of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman.
He is survived by his wife, the former Teresa Hickey; daughters, Judith and her husband George Paton of Fultonville and Katherine Murphy of Spring Hill Florida and the late Pamela Bowles; his sisters, June Gunderman of Florida and Hattie Hawk of Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass Of Christian Burial which will be offered Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Stephen's Church, Pawling Street Hagaman. Fr. Pascal A. Iannotti, celebrant. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. There will be no calling hours, and in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Stephen's Church, or the Foundation of St. Mary's Hospital, both in care of the funeral home office. Richard's family has entrusted his care to the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home , 171 Guy Park Avenue.
