Obituary of Evelyn L. Walsh

Evelyn L. Walsh, 66, of State Highway 5S, passed away Monday morning at the River Ridge Living Center with her loving family at her side. Born October 5, 1944 in Schenectady, New York, she was the daughter of the late Merton and Ella Wagoner Van Wie. She attended schools in Schenectady before moving to the Amsterdam- Fort Johnson area in the late 60?s. Evelyn was employed by United Cerebral Palsy Association of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, ARC and Liberty Enterprises for 10 years as house manager at the Darlene Drive Residence in Fort Johnson. Years ago she enjoyed going out dancing and to dinner with her husband Charles. Evelyn also loved raising poodles and collecting Amish collectables. On June 7, 1975 she married Charles M. Walsh. Besides her husband she is survived by a son Robert Cedeno of Wyoming; two daughters, Lisandra M. Murphy Larry of Morley, MI and Sherry L. Murphy Charles of Billings, MT; a brother Merton G. Van Wie Katherine of Schenectady; seven grandchildren, Derek, Cassy, Tera, JJ, Cori, Ashley and Danni; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Evelyn was predeceased by a daughter Wendy Walsh who passed away in 1982 and also a sister Sandra Schrom . There will be no funeral services. Family and friends are invited to a gathering on Thursday evening from 5 to 7pm at the John J. Wyzomirski Post 701, West Main Street, Amsterdam, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Evelyn?s memory to the World Wildlife Fund, P.O. Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090 or the United Cerebral Palsy Association of Fulton and Montgomery Counties, 67 Division Street, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
