Obituary of Betty Montano Musillo

Mrs. Betty Montano Musillo, 90, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010. Born October 2, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Faustina Schweinfurth Farley. Betty graduated high school and attended business school. She worked in real estate in Westfield, NJ prior to moving to Gloversville in 1951. She was a homemaker most of her life. Betty was married to Charles F. Montano, Sr. in 1951; he pre-deceased her in 1978. She subsequently married John Musillo in 1980; he pre-deceased her in 2005. Always stylishly and impeccably dressed, Betty enjoyed traveling, bridge and dancing. She was a past president of the former Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. Her family and many friendships were of great importance to her. She will be sadly missed. Her loving family includes her children: Charles F. Marie Montano Jr. of Gloversville, Lynn Montano of New York City, and Diane Robert Tiberi of Hawthorne, NY. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Betty was pre-deceased by a sister, Rosalie Fugman. A prayer service will be held 9:15 am Thursday at Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St. Gloversville, and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am Thursday at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 149 S. Main Street, Gloversville. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-6 pm at the funeral home. Cremation will take place at Parkview Crematory, Schenectady. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Willing Helpers Home, 226 W. Madison Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095 or to the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility Activities Department, 847 County Highway 122, Gloversville, NY 12078. Betty's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff of the Willing Helpers Home and the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility for their wonderful care and compassion.
