Obituary of Marion E. Gooley
Marion E. Gooley, 93, formerly of the Park Hill Adult Home, passed away early Wednesday morning at the River Ridge Living Center LLC.
Born in Amsterdam on August 16, 1917, she was the last surviving child of the late George and Florence Yager O'Connor. She was a lifelong resident and attended local schools. Marion worked for the former Montgomery Ward Catalogue Store for many years and later for the Marel Gift Shop in Perth before she retired in 1996. A parishioner of St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman, Marion had a great love for animals.
In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband, William C. Gooley Jr. on Dec. 8, 1986; and sisters Kathleen B. Kennedy and Gladys L. Albertin.
Her loving family includes her daughters, Nicole DeVoe of Fort Plain and Betty Ann Cummings and her husband Vincent of Perth; a granddaughter, Renee Shoemaker as well as three great grandchildren, Desiree, Adrienne and Nathaniel Shoemaker and two nieces, Diane Davidczuk and Mary Lou Ott.
Services will be at the convenience of the family with burial in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Hagaman. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Montgomery County SPCA or any animal shelter, in care of the funeral home office. Marion's family has entrusted her arrangements to the care of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue.
