Obituary of Anthony Istle

Mr.Anthony Istle, 90, of Latimer Hill Rd., Sharon Springs, NY, passed away on October 14, 2010 at the Palatine Nursing Home, Palatine Bridge, NY. Born in Marianna, Pa on July 25, 1920 a son of John and Anna Rubbert Istle. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving in the European Theatre. He worked for over 35 years as a fork lift operator at Beech-Nut Foods in Canajoharie, NY. He was a member at one time of the Ames Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion Post in Ft. Plain, NY. He married Ida Mae Bellinger Istle on January 12, 1974. In addition to his wife survivors include his three daughters, Diana Abbott Gene of Melrose, FL, Geraldine Istle of Jacksonville, FL, Sheila Whitbeck Bob of Mooresville, NC. Step-children, Donald Beaver Robin of Canajoharie, Leon Beaver Teddy Delhi, NY, Barbara Lambert Milton of Ames, NY and Betty Clifford of Ames, NY. David Bouck Shirley of Ft. Plain, NY. Russell Bouck of Rotterdam, NY Two sisters, Elizabeth Rood of Pennsylvania and Anna Vilchek of Coatsville, PA. 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 19, 2010 at 2:00P.M. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego St., Canajoharie, NY with Rev. Pacia Vamvas presiding. Interment will follow with full military honors at Evergreen Cemetery, Sand Flats, Fonda, NY. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday October 19, 2010 one hour prior to the funeral service beginning at 1:00P.M. at the funeral home.
