Obituary of Clyde S. Kenyon
Mr. Clyde S. Kenyon, Jr; age 86, of Gloversville, died Friday evening, October 22, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He had been in ill health for a long period of time.
He was born March 17, 1924 in Gloversville, the son of the late Clyde Kenyon, Sr. and Bertha Merhofer Kenyon. He served in the Army and later became a leather worker at the former G. Levor and Company for 13 years and then at Wood & Hyde Leather Corp. for 29 years. He also drove a taxi for several years.
On February 7, 1948 he married Almeda Monfils who survives. Also surviving are: three of his four children, Sandra Frank and Kathryn Bovee of Gloversville and Mark Kenyon of Guilderland; two brothers, Robert Kenyon of Avon Park, FL and Calvin Kenyon of Kissimmee, FL; four sisters, Evelyn Brooks, Donna Frederick, Jacqueline Sena and Carolyn Bayes, all of Gloversville; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by: a daughter, Victoria Polenski; a grandson, Christopher Polenski; two sisters, Doris Pecorino and Lucille Richardson and two brothers, George Kenyon and Raymond Kenyon.
A private graveside service will take place at the convenience of the family at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville, with the Rev. Dr. R.W. Williams officiating. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave; Gloversville, NY 12078.
